How come when I set a picture as my desktop background, in comes up in tiles and not one big picture?
I want to know how to change this, so if possible, please give me directions to doing so. I have a Dell computer with Windows XP if this helps. Thanks In Advance
Because the image you are using is smaller than the screen resolution like 1024×768
To make a single image fill the entire screen, Right-click on the desktop and select properties, then go to the “desktop” tab and on the right side of the box you will see a dropdown tab labeled “tile”. Click on it and change it to Stretch.

- New dell inspiron 1545 batteries are shipped in a discharged condition and must be charged before use. We generally recommend an overnight charge (approximately twelve hours). Refer to the user’s manual for charging instructions. Rechargeable dell inspiron 1545 batteries should be cycled – fully charged and then fully discharged – two to four times initially to allow them to reach their full capacity.
- Try to avoid frequent full discharging of the dell inspiron 1545 battery.
- It is normal to get warm when charging or normal use the dell inspiron 1545 battery. If it is getting too hot, there may be a problem with the device and qualified personnel should check it.
- If you don’t plan on using the replacement inspiron 1545 dell battery for a month or more, we recommend storing it in a clean, dry, cool place away from heat and metal objects.
- To get maximum performance from the dell 1545 battery, fully optimize the notebooks power management features prior to use. Power management is a trade off: better power conservation in exchange for lesser computer performance. How do you keep your Dell Inspiron 1545 battery going for as long as possible?
1. Defrag regularly – The faster your hard drive does its work – less demand you are going to put on the hard drive and your inspiron 1545 battery. Make your hard drive as efficient as possible by defragging it regularly. (but not while it’s on battery of course!) Mac OSX is better built to handle fragmentation so it may not be very applicable for Apple systems.
2. Cut down on programs running in the background – Itunes, Desktop Search, etc. All these add to the CPU load and cut down Dell 1545 battery life. Shut down everything that isn’t crucial when you’re on battery.
3. Cut down external devices – USB devices (including your mouse) & WiFi drain down your laptop battery. Remove or shut them down when not in use. It goes without saying that charging other devices (like your iPod) with your laptop when on battery is a surefire way of quickly wiping out the charge on your Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop battery.
4. Keep the battery contacts clean: Clean your battery’s metal contacts every couple of months with a cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol. This keeps the transfer of power from your battery more efficient.
5. Take care of your laptop battery – Exercise the Battery. Do not leave a charged Dell 1545 battery dormant for long periods of time. Once charged, you should at least use the battery at least once every two to three weeks. Also, do not let a Li-On battery completely discharge. (Discharing is only for older batteries with memory effects)
