I have a serious problem with installing drivers on my PC?

My computer model is a FUJITSU Primergy Econel 130 S1. I had to format the hard drive and reinstall XP. I’ve lost the CD what came with the computer. I’ve been on my computers manufactures website and attempted to download the drivers.

I can’t do it, my system is not compatible with their drivers. I even had a look and where it said my computer, there was 2 cross’s.

What can I do? Is there another website I can download their drivers from? If I call my manufacture up then can he send me a new installation disc??

There is no way I can install drivers from their website because they wont do it with my system :(

Please help me.

On this website am about to show you, I clicked compatibility list and my model can’t have it’s drivers

Please help me :(

►DEFINITELY contact Fujitsu and have them send you replacement CDs for your computer. Be very sure to explain the driver problem to them, too. They may charge a bit of money for the replacement media you need, but at least you’ll have the CDs for future use IF you make DOUBLE SURE _NOT_ to lose them again!

●If that doesn’t work, then you’ll have a good computer to learn about Linux on. Here’s a START for your research/education on Linux:

What is Linux?

Why Linux Is Better

Information you’ll need to know about GUIs (GNOME and KDE are the most popular ones for Linus although others exist and are available for use) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GUI

What is a Live CD?

If a Distro will run on your computer from Live CD it’ll run even BETTER installed on the hard drive.

What is a Linux Distro?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_distros

How to pick a Distro: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/opensource/?p=382&tag=rbxccnbtr1 Be sure to follow the link embedded within that article that says, ““10 things to consider when choosing a Linux distribution.” …AND read the discussion threads to each article for yet more info by people who are Professional users of Linux in various capacities.

Where to start “shopping” for distros to try: http://distrowatch.com Simply follow the provided link to the website of whatever particular distro(s) you’re interested in and download the ISO image of the distro. Then burn that image to CD using Nero (ISO burning ROM) or ISORecorderV2RC1, which is what I use. If needed, you can get ISORecorderV2RC1 here: http://humbletrader.blogspot.com/2005/12/iso-recorder-burning-iso-images.html

Each distro has it’s own forums to get help from. Just be sure you read the forum rules before you sign up and ask your question. You can also get person on person/computer help by finding a local Linux User Group (LUG, for short) in your area to attend. To do that you can use this handy guide: http://www.linux.org/groups . That site also has a wealth of Linux information on it, as well, that you’ll want to sift through to learn yet more.

I sincerely hope this helps you out. Good Luck!

How to Perform a Windows 7 Upgrade?

Windows 7 is the new and famous successor to Windows Vista. It offers a host of attractive new features such as Remote Media Streaming, Windows Live Essentials, Windows Taskbar, Home Group, and Jump Lists that makes it only logical to upgrade to it.

The upgrade process is also much easier and quicker as compared to what it has been over the years. You can upgrade from Windows Vista directly, however, if you’re working with Windows XP, a direct upgrade will not be possible, and you would need to do a complete installation of the system. Here are the three main choices that you have while purchasing Windows 7:

  • Windows 7 Home Premium Edition
  • Windows 7 Business Edition
  • Windows 7 Ultimate Edition

Before you get down to upgrading to Windows 7, you need to download Upgrade Advisor. This software tool will inform you about all steps that you need to take before making an upgrade. It will let you know if your system has all the necessary hardware specifications for upgrading to Windows 7.

Here is a look at the general specification required for installing Windows 7:

  • 1 GHz processor (32- or 64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device
  • 1 GB of RAM (32-bit) or  2 GB of RAM (64-bit),
  • 16 GB of available disk space

Actually if you have bought a PC from companies such as Acer or Fujitsu right after Windows 7 release in October 2009 and before February 2010, you may have received a free upgrade to Windows 7. In that case contact your retailer for more details.

If you are planning to upgrade by downloading a copy of Windows 7 from the Internet, its better to reconsider because it’s always better to have a DVD version. This version will help you to reinstall the OS again in the event of any hardware or software trouble in the future that makes reinstallation necessary.

Apart from hardware specifications, if you’re upgrading from Windows Vista, you need to ensure that you have all the latest service packs installed, and your system is updated with all the most recent Windows updates.

Once you’ve taken care of these basics, the actual installation of Windows 7 should be a breeze. All you have to do is insert the DVD, and follow the instructions that pop up.
