lifebook s7010
will a 90nm 479 pin pentium m fit instead of a 0.13 micron one, all else equal?
I have a fujitsu lifebook s7010 with a 1.5 ghz pentium m banias processor – 479 pin, 0.13 micron 400 mhz fsb. i want to replace it with a higher spec processor and i wanted to know whether a 90nm factor chip with the same pin config and fsb would fit?
400MHz FSB Pentium M processors are of the M7x5 series. as far as i know the M7x0 (533MHz FSB) series are of the socket type 478 and won’t fit.
if the processor is of the same 479 socket it will fit, regardless of the process technology (130nm, 90nm or 65nm).
